Edie Sedgwick

leave a comment »

With the passing of Michael Jackson, I went on a depressing trip of icons dying before their time -Elvis,Aaliyah,Kurt Cobain etc and then I remembered Edie Sedgwick, socialite/model/muse/troubled soul. Why she may not have been talented like the rest – musically –  she was a complex and interesting character. Her troubled upbringing from alleged abuse from her father to the suicides of her two brothers to Andy Warhol, her life was lived to the extreme and eventually it took it’s toll on her – dead at 27. There are plenty of viedo’s on Edie on youtube,  Ciao! Manahattan is a great watch and after watching her you get this feeling of loss and sadness.

I just felt like sharing this with you even though she isn’t from my era, she remains timeless.
